Fantasy Triathlon Winners May 16-17

Here are last weekend’s Fantasy winners. Events included IM Texas, IM 70.3 Chattanooga, IM 70.3 Barcelona, ITU Yokohama, and Challenge Knoxville. We had over ten contests running last weekend, with entries ranging from FREE to $100. Over 150 entries were submitted for the weekend’s events. When contacted for comment, contest winners said:

“First off I am honored to have been named the inaugural Ironman Texas fantasy triathlon champion (and also IM 70.3 Barcelona). There once was a time before fantasy triathlon where I was just your typical triathlon geek. However with this newly acquired wealth and prestige It appears as if those days are behind me now. I realize that with this honor comes great responsibility and I do not take this responsibility lightly. No longer the hunter, I now become the hunted. It is a role I look forward to embracing. The featured showdown last week was the $100 head-to-head between yours truly Zach “@TriFantasy” Miller, and Thorsten “Tri-Data-Geek” Radde. Thorsten got crushed by DNFs, but quickly called for a rematch:

In the IM Texas Free contest, TRS Triathlon’s King Of All Technology challenged Nick Klonne, winner of past fantasy contests, to a friendly non-monetary wager. Nick was also plagued by DNFs, but is a good sport and continues to hold up his end of the deal.

My favourite new twitter name this week is "Fantasy Tri's #1 Fan" from @NickRunsTooMuch . So glad to see the people enjoying themselves.

Update on Challenge Knoxville

At this time we are still working on sorting out the transition points. Each Challenge race’s results are released a different way, and it is taking longer than expected to sort out the fantasy scores.
